The Cooling Table

The complete cooling table consists of belt systems. In front of the stretcher we apply heat resistant needle felt belts, over the stretcher bed smooth nylon belts and then high friction belts for building and storing saw batches. Beams and support structure are made of anodised aluminium giving a good appearance and easy maintenance. The belts are automaticly tensioned and indirectly driven, thus easy to change.

BELT SYSTEM NO. 1
is an integrated part of the runout table. When positioned, the profiles are lowered onto this belt system rapidly clearing the runout table in front of the puller. Then the profiles are straightened by running gently against belt system no. 2 before transferred onto it.

BELT SYSTEM NO. 2
is really the cooling table. The distance between the profiles is automatically adjusted to the profile width to obtain an optimal utilisation of this belt system, which normally only runs forwards.

BELT SYSTEM NO. 3
is installed to add flexibility to the concept. It is functioning as part of the cooling table but is normally not fully loaded, thus being able to feed profiles to the stretcher independently of the press cycle and returns to its original position with the remaining profiles.

BELT SYSTEM NO. 4
is the bridge across the stretcher bed. The belts are retractable running on solid maintenance-free linear bearings. An absolute encoder value giving the tailstock position, is used for selecting the number of belts to be retracted.

Upon information about typical profiles to be extruded, we will calculate the required cooling capacity and design a quench to fit in with the existing equipment. Naturally, we will also make modifications to the surrounding equipment if needed.
